Opened in 2016, Rota do Queijo is a project of former manager Nuno Alves, who followed his dream of becoming a cheesemaker. Located in the historic center of Guimarães, this cheese shop specializes in national and international artisan cheeses. This is a space where you can acquire various types of cheese and learn more about them.
A simple, modern space with a minimalist decoration, it focuses on the arrangement of national products because there is not only cheese, but wines, jams, and even bread from Avintes. Here you can also find all kinds of objects and materials related to the culture of cheese; you can see milk jugs, Italian cutlery, and books about the different types of cheese, among others.
Another characteristic of this space is the cheese tastings, with boards served with different qualities and accompanied by jams, sausages and dried fruit. And, of course, not forgetting a good glass of wine or sangria to go with it.
With excellent and experienced service, this space is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 7pm.
