The Elevador de Santa Luzia, placed in Monte de Santa Luzia, in Viana do Castelo, is a funicular that connects the Railway Station of Viana do Castelo to the Sanctuary of Santa Luzia.
This funicular, built in 1923 and completely remodeled in mid-2005, is 650 meters long and is considered the longest in the country.
To find the funicular station, you must go to the railway station, catch an elevator and cross the metallic bridge. You can also access this station by going to Viana Shopping. The cost of the tickets is 3 euros, round trip, and 2 euros to go up or down. This magnificent route has a duration of 7 minutes.
