Founded in 1999, the Museu da Imagem is located in Braga in one of the old medieval wall towers. This museum was born to show the public the evolution of photography and the city itself.
This space has a collection of 210 thousand old films, various cameras, and their evolution. There are various temporary exhibitions throughout the year, but it also has permanent archives from the 20th century to the present day. Workshops related to the art of photography and guided tours also take place here.
This museum maintains its old style and is a true representation of history, like the thousands of photographs on display and perfectly preserved here. It has a professional team ready to recount the beautiful history of the city of Braga.
You can visit this museum throughout the year with free admission, from Tuesday to Friday, from 11am to 7pm, and on weekends, from 2:30pm to 6pm.
