Mata da Albergaria

Mata da Albergaria is one of the fascinating woods of the Peneda-Gerês National Park, located in the municipality of Terras de Bouro, in the district of Braga.

Here lies a circular trail 4.5 km long, where you can find an extensive secular oak grove, dense vegetation of extreme biological diversity, and beautiful waterfalls, from which we highlight Cascata da Portela do Homem (also known as Cascata de São Miguel) and Cascatas das Lagoas da Mata da Albergaria.

Another important detail, historical and archaeological, is the interesting 2 km route along the ancient Roman road called Geira Romana, which once crossed the Serra do Gerês and connected Braga and Astorga in Spain.
