The Soajo village is an ancient place that belongs to the municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, district of Viana do Castelo. This charming place in the National Park of Peneda-Gerês has a unique heritage, a fantastic landscape, and traditions that are still being preserved.
This village is known for many reasons: the houses built with granite blocks and its cobblestone streets; the main church of São Martinho de Soajo; its black well, where you can dive in the middle of nature; the 24 granaries, the first one dating back to 1782; and finally, the emblematic pillory that dates back to the 16th century.
To get to the village of Soajo, you must go to Braga, take the N101 to Ponte da Barca, then the N203 to Paradamonte, and finally the M530 to Soajo.
