The Bertiandos and S.Pedro de Arcos Lagoons cover several county parishes in a predominantly rural region. The environmental and patrimonial values come together uniquely, and these lagoons are considered national landmarks in environmental education and nature preservation.
This region is considered, both nationally and internationally, as a wetland of relevant nature, for its rarity in terms of the habitats of the various species located here and the rich biodiversity that composes it. This is considered a protected area, developed around two ponds and the banks of the Estorãos River, in a total area of about 350 hectares.
There is also a fauna Interpretation Center and five trails with various levels and distances to enjoy even more of this fantastic place.
