Theatro Circo is easily accessible in the center of the city of Braga and is currently considered the most prestigious theater in Braga.
In 1906, a group of citizens of Braga, led by the then mayor, decided to listen to the appeals of their people, who longed for a more significant theater than the one that existed at the time. That time was marked by substantial development in the arts, specifically in performing arts, as was happening in the rest of the country.
Throughout its history, this centennial theater has hosted plays of relevant importance for the cultural development of the city and the country. It was also an essential landmark in the period of the Estado Novo.
With the Carnation Revolution, Theatro Circo saw a new revival, and in 1990 the redevelopment of the space we know today began.
