This sight-seeing teleferico will take you to the peak of Penha Mountain, a journey of 1,700 metres. You’ll gain 400 metres of altitude in only a few minutes and you can admire the stunning views all around you.
The mountain is the highest point in the general area and is an excellent opportunity to get a different perspective on Guimarães.
You’ll find the Santuário da Penha at the mountain's peak - a unique modern church. In the scenic landscape of this wooded peak, you will find huge boulders covered in flowers, where children are often playing.
At the mountain summit, you will also find picnic areas, bars, restaurants, cafes, trails, mini-golf and some intriguing hidden caves to explore. On a hot summer day, it’s the ideal break from the city.
